The Role

We are looking for a Service Coordinator to support NECI’s valve and asset repair business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, organization, and customer service skills who wants to build a career in an industrial service environment. We are prepared to provide hands-on training to the right person.

The role combines customer coordination, work order management, scheduling, and day-to-day support for our shop and field service teams. You will learn how valve and equipment repairs are scoped, quoted, scheduled, completed, and documented.

There is a significant amount of overtime available, particularly during customer outages and other busy periods. This creates a strong opportunity for someone who wants to increase their earnings and is comfortable working additional hours when needed.

If you are mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and interested in a role with substantial overtime earning potential, we encourage you to apply, even if you do not have direct valve or industrial service experience.

How You’ll Be Successful

  • Bring a strong work ethic, mechanical curiosity, and willingness to learn—we will teach you the technical side of the business.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to customer questions, service requests, and schedule changes.
  • Stay organized while managing multiple jobs, changing priorities, and time-sensitive requests.
  • Take ownership of work orders, communication, and follow-through.
  • Build productive relationships with customers, technicians, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Be dependable and willing to work available overtime, especially during our busiest periods in Spring and Fall.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with customers, sales, technicians, vendors, and subcontractors to help scope, quote, schedule, and execute repair and service work.
  • Create, manage, and update work orders for valve and asset repair jobs.
  • Coordinate shop and field service activity from the initial customer request through job completion and closeout.
  • Communicate schedule changes, scope changes, and job updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Use the IFS business system to create proposals, work orders, customer orders, and purchase orders.
  • Support post-job reconciliation, service reporting, and repair documentation.
  • Help ensure repair orders, field service orders, and subcontractor scopes are complete and accurate.
  • Maintain organized customer records and internal service documentation.
  • Learn the fundamentals of valve repair, instrumentation, rotating equipment, and shop and field service operations.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in service coordination, service writing, inside sales, dispatch, maintenance, repair, shop operations, manufacturing, or another mechanical environment is welcome—but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and an interest in understanding how equipment works.
  • A willingness and ability to learn technical information through hands-on training.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort learning new business systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with customers, technicians, vendors, and internal teams.
  • A strong sense of urgency, accountability, and follow-through.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, service, automotive, or equipment-repair environment.
  • Experience creating quotes, work orders, purchase orders, or service documentation.
  • Experience supporting field service scheduling, outage work, dispatch, or shop operations.
  • Previous experience with IFS or a similar ERP or work-order system.
