Position Summary
Oversee and supervise day to day inside sales activities including proposal generation and application engineering functions.
Responsible for maintaining and consistently improving a fast-paced workflow. Works with all team members to balance our daily workload, assign customers and opportunities per team members’ ability and complexity. Ensures all customer’s expectations, both internal and external, are either met or exceeded.
Cooperate with others to uphold NECI’s Total Customer Commitment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and train employees on fundamental of the role of an Application Engineer, technology, proposal process, customer questions and inquiries.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and sales leadership to develop and mentor the application engineering team to exceed customer expectations.
- Develop team’s sales acumen in the following areas: developing solutions, independent customer visits, performing customer training/presentations, and directly manage Accounts as assigned.
- Develop and maintain a cadence with Account Managers, Sales Leadership, and Operations Leadership to ensure proper communication is taking place between the sales teams.
- Work with Sales and Operations Leadership to achieve sales goals and initiatives.
- Ensure accurate and timely data is entered by all team members into our CRM and business system.
- Maintain clear insight on customer requirements and prioritize the day-to-day assignments of the Application Engineers and Specialists to meet these requirements through the development and use of team metrics.
- Continuously evaluate NECI’s internal business processes through the development and use of team metrics to ensure we are properly staffed to maximize turnaround time and win rate.
- Manage workloads across multiple offices when appropriate, to ensure we have workload balance amongst staff members regardless of physical location.
- Adjust the assigned customers for Application Engineers and Specialists based on loading and skill sets.
- Perform timely and accurate performance reviews for direct reports
- Recommend and make any personnel changes within the AE/AS Team.
- Develop and execute the implementation plan of any new business system changes affecting Inside Sales daily activities, including the development of procedures and training materials.
- Develop and maintain training levels as needed for AE/AS Team.
- Recommend and initiate process, workflow and procedural changes for continuous improvement based on our team metrics.
- Responsible for providing uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of responsibility. Has the authority to stop those work processes at any time it is believed that quality is being compromised.
- Performs direct account AE and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- BS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering. Or equivalent industry experience
- Prior Experience: 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of valves, controls, and instruments is desired.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
